This is PT. Elkom Printama Batam's statement on conflict minerals in our products, based on information collected from our supply chain and manufacturing facilities.
There is growing awareness of violence and human rights violations in the mining of certain minerals in the "Conflict Region" of the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and surrounding countries. The Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) have asked companies to carry out reasonable due diligence across their supply chains to ensure that specified metals are not sourced from mines in the Conflict Region controlled by non-government military groups or unlawful military factions.
PT. Elkom Printama Batam supports the actions of the EICC and GeSI, and has obtained or is obtaining information from our metal suppliers on the origin of metals used in our products. Based on the information our suppliers provide, PT. Elkom Printama Batam does not knowingly use metals derived from the Conflict Region in our products.
Suppliers of metals used in our products (specifically gold, tin, tantalum and tungsten) must demonstrate that they understand and support the EICC-GeSI actions and will not knowingly procure specified metals originating from the Conflict Region.
PT. Elkom Printama Batam complies with all laws applicable to its business. We support the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 1998 International Labour Organization Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, in accordance with international law, local law and practice. In particular:
We hold high standards of occupational health and safety, comply with applicable regulations, and provide a safe and healthy workplace to protect employees and prevent accidents, injuries and work-related illness.
We comply with all applicable environmental laws, regulations and standards, and maintain an effective system to identify and eliminate potential environmental hazards.
